MAJOR IN applied ETHICS
The Department of Philosophy and Humanities offers a degree program, Bachelor of Science in Philosophy major in Applied Ethics, with a CHED COPC standard issued on July 31, 2021. The BS Philosophy major in Applied Ethics is the first such program in Mindanao, if not for the entire Philippines where the focus of study of philosophy is Applied Ethics in a Bachelor of Science curriculum. Basically, the motivation of the program is to equipped the majoring students with intellectual virtues and critical skills for living ethical, responsible meaningful lives that will guide them in their future endeavors in the following:
Engaged in public policy works.
Do voluntary works in community-based development program, conflict transformation and peace building or non-profit sectors.
Engaged in capability building projects.
Engaged in a collaborative or independent research.
Obtained a career in education, research institutes, environmental agencies, consulting firms, legal clinics, financial institutions, management, advocacy, military institutions, religious organizations, Information Technology and more.
Pursue a graduate work in philosophy, law, medicine, theology, and other related disciplines.
Paglangkob 3 fulfills Alampat's image of leadership and keepers of indigenous knowledge represented in the Pagtimbayayong (this year's theme), which underscores the theme of resilience and the bayanihan. Multigenre in form, it highlights the importance of reinvigorating indigenous knowledge by inviting in cultural masters within the academic discourse to break and challenge the formalities of learning, which is somehow scientific in its approach. Ultimately, it proves how science is equally essential in keeping and understanding all these creative expressions with the in-situ binarities.

This year's edition of the Pakiglambigit fulfilled the communal concept of sharing and celebrated traditional creative expressions in the Maranao Motifs.
It also highlighted the importance of reinvigorating shared expressions among participating artists and diverse audiences beyond the formalities of the academic discourses.
Pakiglambigit was made possible with support from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), MSU-IIT Gender Resource and Development (GADRC), Center for Culture and Arts (CCA), Department of Philosophy and Humanities (DPH), Iligan City Ethnic Center and Museum (ICECM), and StudioOne Art Gallery.
